Then I took the bee vac home and emptied the contents on to the top of a single brood box loaded with drawn comb.
Here was another tricky encounter with a swarm trap. Same sized trap (6-frame nuc) with pheromone lures, only this time I smoked the heck out of them and scraped off the comb. Again, the comb was as fragile as tissue paper. You'll notice some sealed brood which means this swarm was present for more than a week, maybe even two.
Here's what it looked like after smoking and scraping. The smoking moved the bees up and away from the comb. The comb was too fragile to save.
